Yes! My favourite time is doing nothing whilst travelling - especially literally travelling (airports, bus journeys, trains). There is something about the inevitability of the time lost, and the lack of control in the outcome, that enables me to truly stop. It is freeing.
The contrast of the different places sound like a perfect experience overall! I'm very drawn towards the last one however :) And ref pt.i, which I was unable to comment on for some reason, I also talk to strangers, much to the embarrassment of my children when they were teenagers!
